Aspire Primary School

Individual For All, Aspirational For Everyone

Our School Day

The school day at Aspire School begins from 8.45am.

Pupils are dropped off by parents or transport providers at the main reception from 8.45- 9.15am, where they are met by members of their class team. Pupils walk to their classrooms with their class team members, where they are registered by 9.15am.

During the school day, pupils work on various enriching activities that support them in making progress towards the personalised targets in their Individual Learner Profiles. These personalised targets focus on many different areas, including therapeutic targets, academic and  the development of communication, social skills and life skills, and are weighted depending on the pupil's individual needs and starting points. All classes at Aspire School have a free-flowing learning environment, which means that learning can take place in the classroom and in the outdoor learning areas.

Pupils have a 15 minute morning break at around 10.30am or during a natural break during activities.

Pupils have their lunch between 11:45am until 12:45pm, including a break outside in their outdoor environment.

The school day at Aspire School ends at 3.30pm, with the exception of Friday, where the children leave at 1:45. The collection of pupils by their parents or transport providers takes place from 3.00-3.30pm. Once called to be collected, they walk with a member of staff to meet with their parents or transport provider at the front of the school. The total time this amounts to in a typical week, including breaks, is 31.5 hours.
