We believe all pupils at Aspire School can aspire to achieve great things, embracing their additional needs and any challenges that they might face.  Our vision is to promote independent and aspirational learning where all children succeed.

This ethos is reflected in our class names, which are all named after inspirational people who either had, or have, Autism or characteristics of Autism. 


Ed Sheeran is a British singer who had a history of speech difficulties as a child.
 

Wolfgang Mozart was a classical composer from Austria who had many traits of Autism

Elvis Presley was an American singer and actor who had a speech disorder.
 

Hans Christian Andersen was a Danish author who was considered to have Autism.

Chris Bonnello is a British autistic writer, novelist and special needs teacher.

Emily Dickinson was an American poet who had many autistic traits.


David Bellamy was  a British Botanist who  has speech impediment and believed he had autism.

Chris Packham is an English Naturalist with a diagnosis of Autism.

Greta Thunberg is a Swedish environmental activist with an Autism diagnosis.

Tim Burton is a Hollywood director who is considered to have characteristics of Autism.

Jorge Gutierrez is a Mexican director with a diagnosis of Autism.

Satoshi Tajiri is the creator of Pokemon and has a diagnosis of Autism.

Charles Darwin was an English Naturalist who was considered to have Autism.

Albert Einstein was a German-born Physicist who was considered to have Autism.

At Aspire School we have  Curriculum days each year, which are an opportunity for the pupils to learn more about, and complete activities on, the inspirational person their class is named after. This allows the pupils and their families to see that their additional needs do not have to be a barrier, but instead can help them aspire to do great things.
